Please follow the steps below to set up your Dropbox account for the first time.
You will receive an email from Dropbox, indicating that your account is ready. Click on “ Sign in to Dropbox” and you will be redirected to another page to set a password
Set a strong password that you can easily remember. Using the guidelines below:
- At least 8 characters—the more characters, the better.
- A mixture of both uppercase and lowercase letters.
- A mixture of letters and numbers.
- Inclusion of at least one special character, e.g.,! @ # ? ]
When asked how you want to receive your security code choose a mobile app (Google Authenticator or Duo Mobile). If you use an authenticator app to receive your verification codes, please add primary and secondary backup phone numbers.
on the next screen, you can either:
Scan the barcode (if your app supports it): Open your app of choice and choose to add a new account. You may then be able to use your phone's camera to scan the barcode on dropbox.com.
Manually enter your secret key: You'll be given a secret key on dropbox.com that you can type into the app. Use the steps in your app to add a new account using a secret key.
Click Next.
Once the authenticator app is configured, enter the security code it generates to verify setup and enable two-step verification.
Click Next to complete the setup
